PS 132 is located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It is the largest public elementary school in North Brooklyn, serving 712 local children & their families.

All dollars raised at the Annual Benefit & Auction are used to supplement the academic curriculum at PS 132 with critical enrichment programs in music, performance, wellness & STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art & math) for our Title 1 population (over 60% of our student population is defined as low-income). These are classes the school would otherwise not be able to afford & enrich the education of all of our children, PreK-5th grade.

Two time MAC award winner, Doris Dear, the inner Housewife of Ray DeForest, returns to the Rumpus Room at Don't Tell Mama's NYC for a one night only SPECIAL EVENT on October 2, 2019 at 7pm! Doris Dear's new show "More Gurl Talk" brings her story telling and songs back to Don't Tell Mama's for this special theatrical cabaret. The Rumpus Room will be full of rousing numbers from Broadway and the radio ... as well as hilarious and sometimes touching original stories of how our families influence our lives. Learn "diet tips", decorating do's and don'ts and how to make that perfect whiskey sour! The show played to rousing crowds in Fire Island and Connecticut, so come join us in the Rumpus Room for a good old fashioned show. There's nothing like an evening with Doris Dear to lift your sprits, warm your heart and send you on your way with a smile (and maybe a tear or two). This special "theatrical cabaret" is 90 minutes long with an intermission! Beginning Tuesday July 2 at 7:30 and running for 8 weeks on Tuesdays through August 27. (No contest on July 9) Voted by the audience and a cavalcade of celebrity judges, the contest is open to solo, duo and group vocal acts in the following categories: music, drag, burlesque, and variety. The winner receives a $1500.00 stipend to put towards a NEW show at Don't Tell Mama to be presented in early 2020 AND an ELECTRIC WOK!! Plus other surprises!!! **Mama's Next BIG Act will take place on Tuesdays between July 2 and August 27 (No contest on July 9) The preliminary rounds will be July 2 and July 16 at 7:30.

Doris Dear is a special guest performer at GLOW: 50 Years of Callen-Lorde! Since 1969 Callen-Lorde Community Health Center has provided quality healthcare, free of judgement, which has helped enhance the well-being of LGBTQ communities.

A special event in support of the National LGBT Cancer Project. In addition to performances by established cabaret performers KT Sullivan, Jeff Harnar, Billy Stritch, Marieann Meringolo, Eugene Ebner and Doris Dear, the evening will also feature a short performance from the play, introduced by playwright Fuchs.
